The Hellenic Biomass Association (HELLABIOM) which promotes the sustainable utilization of bioenergy in Greece is for yet another year one of the prime supporting organizations of BIOENERGY Expo 2017 and co-organizer of the event “Biomass Day 2017” on Friday 7th April 2017 at the OPEN SPACE of Athens Metropolitan Expo.

The presentations of Biomass Day will revolve around the utilization of biomass in contemporary greek reality.

The first part of the event refers to applications of solid biofuel pellets, in parallel to the presentation of the program Bioenergy for Business in collaboration with the Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) which relates to thermal power generation from biomass in industry.

Τhe second part focuses on electrical power generation from biomass through presentations about generation and utilization of biogas, as well as biomass gasification. It must be noted that distinguished speakers from Austrian companies with vast experience in the development of biomass projects will be present.

At a separate room, after the end of the first part of Biomass Day, a parallel event will be organized in the form of round table discussion under the coordination of Mr. Manolis Karampinis, scientific collaborator of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). The round table is organized within the boundaries of  Biomasud Plus project which involves the adoption of proposed sustainability criteria by the producers of solid biofuels who wish to receive the certification “Biomasud” and is relevant to these producers, as well as to research and scientific organizations of the biomass an bioenergy sector, end users of solid biofuels and other interested parties.
