Βρισκόμαστε στην ευχάριστη θέση να ανακοινώσουμε επίσημα την εισδοχή της Hellenic Biomass Association (HellaBiom) – ΕΛΕΑΒΙΟΜ στο δίκτυο του Ευρωπαϊκού Συνδέσμου Biochar – European Biochar Industry Consortium ως μέλος και εθνικός σύνδεσμος που εκπροσωπεί την Ελλάδα.
To βιοεξανθράκωμα (biochar) αποτελεί προϊόν πυρόλυσης υπολειμματικής βιομάζας, διαθέτει υψηλή περιεκτικότητα σε άνθρακα τον οποίον δεσμεύει αξιόπιστα, μακροπρόθεσμα και χωρίς αρνητικές παρενέργειες. Το biochar συνεισφέρει στην επίτευξη κλιματικά ουδέτερης γεωργίας και κτηνοτροφίας, στη βελτίωση και εξυγίανση των εδαφών, στην υγεία και ευεξία του ζωικού κεφαλαίου, αλλά και σε πλήθος δομικών και βιομηχανικών εφαρμογών.
Παράλληλα, η τεχνολογία της δέσμευσης άνθρακα μέσω του biochar (Biochar Carbon Removal – BCR) προσφέρει τεράστιες δυνατότητες απομάκρυνσης του άνθρακα από την ατμόσφαιρα με φιλικό προς το περιβάλλον και βιώσιμο τρόπο και δέσμευσή του μακροπρόθεσμα, συμβάλλοντας σημαντικά στην καταπολέμηση της κλιματικής αλλαγής.
Το Δ.Σ. της ΕΛΕΑΒΙΟΜ και τα μέλη της στην Ελλάδα ευελπιστούμε σε μία εποικοδομητική και μακροπρόθεσμη συνεργασία με τον Ευρωπαϊκό Σύνδεσμο Biochar – European Biochar Industry Consortium και τα αντίστοιχα μέλη (εταιρείες και φορείς) για την ανάπτυξη χρήσιμων εφαρμογών, την διεύρυνση της αγοράς, την ανταλλαγή επιστημονικής γνώσης και τεχνογνωσίας και την ενδυνάμωση της αποδοχής και του ρόλου του biochar και της μεθόδου δέσμευσης BCR σε ενεργειακό, αγροτικό, περιβαλλοντικό και κλιματικό επίπεδο.

We are pleased to officially announce the admission of the Hellenic Biomass Association (HellaBiom) to the network of the European Biochar Industry Consortium as a member and national partner association representing Greece.
Biochar is a product of pyrolysis of residual biomass, it has a high carbon content which it binds reliably, long-term and without negative side effects. Biochar contributes to the achievement of climate-neutral agriculture and animal husbandry, to the improvement and sanitation of soils, to the health and well-being of livestock, but also to a multitude of structural and industrial applications.
At the same time, the technology of carbon sequestration through biochar (Biochar Carbon Removal – BCR) offers enormous possibilities for removing carbon from the atmosphere in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way and sequestering it in the long term, contributing significantly to the fight against climate change.
The Hellenic Biomass Association (HellaBiom) and its members are looking forward to a constructive and long-term cooperation with the European Biochar Industry Consortium and its member organizations for the development of useful applications, market development, sharing of scientific knowledge and know-how and strengthening the acceptance and role of biochar and BCR in energy, agriculture, environment and climate change mitigation.
